I recently graduated from Butler University in May 2025 with a degree in Strategic Communication and a minor in Spanish.
Ever since I first saw a movie at the IMAX at the Indiana State Museum, I wanted to continue to visit that theater since it was the largest screen in the state of Indiana. When visiting the IMAX more often, I became curious about what else the park had to offer. I was able to visit the Indiana State Museum, Eiteljorg Museum, and Everwise Amphitheater several times throughout my time at Butler University.
After developing a love for the park from different visits at attractions, I decided I wanted to apply to intern with the park. As an intern, I have had the opportunity to learn more about each of the attractions along with everything else White River State Park does for the community. I have had the opportunity to plan and make creative content for each attraction for the park’s social media. This has included working with digital marketing teams from the attractions to create social media content.
My time here as a marketing and communications intern has been educational, fun, and impactful. I have been able to grow as a person, learning more about myself, my career goals and my passions. Throughout my time as an intern, I have had the opportunity to write several blogs, create a variety of social media content, and help with different events in the park. This internship has allowed me to gain hands on experience in the tourism industry.
As my time as an intern ends, I am grateful for my experience with White River State Park. This internship has been a great opportunity and has prepared me for the future and my next steps in my career.
