This year, we’re celebrating 40 years of NAMI Indiana — and there’s no better time to honor that legacy than during Mental Health Awareness Month. Since 1949, May has been a time for the nation to come together in support of mental health, and we’re inviting you to do just that by joining our 40 for 40 Challenge.
Throughout the month of May, we’re encouraging participants to walk, run, bike, or move a total of 40 miles, one for each year of NAMI Indiana’s impact. This challenge is all about supporting mental health, building community, and getting ready for the NAMIWalks Indiana in Indianapolis on Sunday, June 8.
As you track your progress during the month, you can earn prizes for hitting mileage and fundraising achievements. Consider using this May challenge to advocate for Mental Health Awareness, celebrate 40 years of NAMI Indiana’s impact, or promote your NAMIWalks Indiana team. Regardless, your miles will help bring us closer to a world where every person navigating mental illness receives the support they need.
