Military Park

Once a Civil War encampment and training field, Military Park at White River State Park is 12 acres of green space and in the shape of a military badge.

You can rent all 12 acres or only a couple of quadrants. The east quadrant has a 40 x 50 open-aired shelter house. This space can host up to 50,000 people in its entirety and plays host to festivals, community celebrations, charity events, run-walks, animal-friendly get-togethers, farmers markets, and more. This vast, open space is a rare find in an urban setting and can transform along with your imagination.

Celebration Plaza

Flanked on the west by The White River and Celebration Plaza Amphitheater and on the north by the NCAA Hall of Champions, Celebration Plaza is an inviting destination and the staple image of White River State Park.

Its wide vista of lush green space includes an open area of walkways and the famous Indy sculpture entitled “Totem”. Celebration plaza can accommodate both small and large events all in one breathtaking space. From 100 to 10,000 and anything in between, this space offers one of the city’s finest backdrops and has hosted many run-walk events, conferences, and prestigious awards ceremonies.

Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park

Featuring an outdoor setting and soaring views, Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park is the perfect location for your next conference, corporate event, fundraiser, private concert, or graduation. With access to the world’s greatest musical entertainment, state-of-the-art lighting and sound, custom menus and mixology, our talented staff handles every detail, so you don’t have to. Accommodating up to 6,000 guests and located along the east banks of the White River in downtown Indianapolis, less than 1 mile from Indiana Convention Center and from Mile Square, this unique 20,000 square-foot venue will exceed expectations.

Celebration Plaza Amphitheater

Located on the east bank of the White River and the west end of Celebration Plaza, this unique space is tucked into a hillside with tiered limestone “seats” and a beautiful private waterfall. With accommodations ranging from 500 – 2,000 guests, this natural outdoor amphitheater has played host to countless weddings, sporting events, networking functions, cocktail receptions, faith-based fellowship services, and theatrical performances.

Museum Lawn

The Museum Lawn is a welcoming spot located in front of the Indiana State Museum. This large versatile green space is conveniently close to the parking garage and across the street from the Marriott Complex. The Museum Lawn is a perfect space for larger events ranging from 4,000 – 6,000 people and is a beautiful setting for art exhibitions, reception dinners and community events.

Old Washington Street Bridge

Once part of the Old National Road (US 40), the Old Washington Street bridge is now for pedestrians and features sculptures by Indiana artists. This distinctive location offers north and south views of the White River with walkways, grassy areas, and unmatched views of downtown Indianapolis. This space offers a unique view of downtown for events ranging from 2,000 – 5,000 guests. Experience one of the best views in town featuring the Indianapolis Zoo to the west, TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park to the southeast, and feet above the White River.

Waterfront Pavilion

Located across the White River, behind the Indianapolis Zoo, the Waterfront Pavilion has 6 picnic tables under a canopy and an open patio lookout. This space offers a gorgeous view of White River State Park, the White River, and the Indianapolis skyline and is ideal for picnics, family reunions, small weddings, cocktail receptions, community events, and intimate, romantic evening dinners.

Locust Grove

Located on the east end of White River State Park, the Locust trees in this space provide one of the best locations for shade. Featuring a colored art installation named “Prime Commonality”, abundant shade and conveniently located near the main entrance to White River State Park on Washington Street, 1 to 500 people can partake in family reunions, picnics, yoga sessions, and more.

Children’s Maze

Large limestone blocks placed in an artistic spiral create a charming event space adjacent to an easily accessible, high-profile location in the park. For events ranging anywhere between 1 and 500 guests, this location offers access to many of the park’s other amenities including the Dr. Frank Lloyd Visitor Center.

Pumphouse Amphitheater

Located on the south side of the Historic Pumphouse, this space offers tiered block seating and lush green space with a beautiful brick, historic building as a backdrop. With the ability to host up to 2,000 people in this space, the Pumphouse Amphitheater is an ideal location for weddings, social gatherings, outdoor college classes, small graduation ceremonies, beer and wine tastings, and product demonstrations.

Promenade Amphitheater

The Promenade Amphitheater is located west of the White River and is complete with terraced stonework to create your own seating. This space provides beautiful views of the White River and the Indianapolis skyline for up to 500 people.

Bison Plaza

Stroll west along the Old Washington Street Bridge and you will end up at Bison Plaza- an open, stone-paved area named from its proud bison statue. Nestled up to the entrance of the Indianapolis Zoo and amongst seasonal foliage, this garden plaza is sure to create a unique setting for your next event. This space holds up to 150 people in a beautiful and private outdoor reception area and is perfect for cocktail parties, intimate weddings, and social gatherings.
